Celeste Whittaker is a writer at the Courier-Post where she’s covered the Philadelphia 76ers, college football and basketball and high school sports. She covered sports for 17 years at the newspaper but transitioned to the news department recently where she writes features and news stories about Burlington County towns.
The Willingboro, N.J., native previously worked at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution where she covered women’s hoops as well as college football and basketball. Two of her sportswriting career highlights involve the roundball: Covering women’s basketball in the 1996 Olympics and covering the Sixers in the 2001 NBA Finals.
Her first love is basketball (she earned a full scholarship to play hoops at UNC Chapel Hill), which she loves to watch and write about. She’d even like to get back in shape to play again.
